The interface is intuitive and feels like it's part of the operating system. Version 2.12.10brings: Quickly reply to messages right from notifications. We do not encourage or condone the use of this program if it is in violation of these laws. There's plenty more (location sharing, contact exchange, message broadcasting) and the app is free for a year, currently $0.99/ year afterwards. The migration over to the Nightly channel has been well worth it so far, and until such time that a major catastrophe occurs in Nightly, I'm done with Firefox. You can use it to send and receive text and voice messages, photos, videos, even call your friends in other countries, and because it uses your phone's internet connection it might not cost you anything at all (depending on whether you'll pay data charges). I don't know what they are working on at any given time, but apparently I've not crossed the line into any experimental code - yet. It's beta at best, but a well matured beta. Having said all the above, don't expect a transition to Nightly to be smooth and squeaky clean. But I would bet Nightly is better over there for the same reasons it's better on Windows. So, if you are looking for a comparison of Firefox vs Nightly on Liinux, I can't offer that. But even before Unity, browsers on Linux were not exact duplicates of browsers on Windows.

It's very much like what Microsoft does with Internet Explorer - which by the way is now their 64 bit version in my new and improved system.

They do crazy things over there, such as integrate the software into the Unity interface. I can't speak to Firefox on Linux because I use Ubuntu. It has not frozen once since I've installed it, while Firefox can be counted on to freeze and require a reboot (of the browser) at least twice a day. But the real satisfaction comes from the stability of Nightly. Much of that is due to twice the data handling capability web sites load incredibly fast and even downloads seem to flow quicker. It took a few hours of normal use to discover how improved the performance is in the Nightly build. They look the same and in fact Nightly automatically imported all the settings from Firefox, bookmarks included. The nightly build is called Nightly - what else? That's to distinguish it from Firefox. So, thinking that I have nothing to lose, I changed channels.

It's not guaranteed stable, but I have painfully discovered that their standard issue 32 bit browser is not stable either. I'm not all sure what they do over at Mozilla, but they upload a new version of their browser every morning. Upon further research I discovered that the standard issue for Firefox is 32 bits and that the only way to obtain a copy of their 64 bit version is to use their Nightly Build channel. They explained that I need both 32 and 64 bit versions if I am using both types of browsers.

I learned about it when I went through the hoops to upgrade Java. To be honest I had no idea that there were such a things as 64 bit browsers per se. One such improvement is in the browsers I use. But now I find that several areas of the system could be improved even further by upgrading them to 64 bits. The people who did it for me did a great job of preserving much of what I had installed on the old system, and for that I am most grateful. As mentioned elsewhere, I have recently upgraded my Command and Control Center masterpiece to a 64 bit machine.
